On Tuesday I was very fortunate to get to play the magnificent Turnberry on the Ayrshire coast.
I played with great pals Andrew Murray, Ian Lee and Steve Marr and our 4 ball added up to almost 200 years experience of Professional Golf!!
We were very lucky with the weather and had a great game the week before the Ailsa course is going to be closed for renovations for 6 months.
I played in the Open Championship at Turnberry in 1986 when Greg Norman won and the course was fantastic then and has since had several changes to the course which made it even better so I can't wait to see what the next changes bring to this truly wonderful Golf course.
The history of the place is awesome with the Duel in the Sun in 1977 with Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson still being one of the most iconic sporting events.
There was also the biggest travesty in golf when at the age of 59 Tom Watson needing a 4 at the last to Win the Open in 2009 hit 2 magnificent shots into the last hole with his 2nd shot going just over the green and Tom sadly dropped a shot and then was beaten in the play off by Stuart Cink, I still can't believe it.
Lots of history and a truly magnificent venue.
