Early Season Scoring Proving Tough

The scoring has proved difficult as the season gets underway with the 1st competition on Sunday 23rd March being won by Ian Glover with 37 points and the only other player beating par also with 37 was Bill Donoghue.

Malcolm Deluce won his first event with 38 points on Saturday 29th with only 3 other players beating par with 37 points Ste Smith, Darren Greenall and Chris McNally.

Malcolm said his goal for this year is to get to a 19 handicap, and it looks like he is on his way.

Next was the Stroke on 5th April, won with a great score of 65 by John Welsh with Ian Clarke and new member Kris Meadows playing in his first comp with 66.

Champion of Champions winner this year on the 6th April was Andy Ivanauskas with a nett 68 (pictured on the left) with Paul Featherstone, Mark Rimmer and Mick Bohannon all on 69.

The first Ladies competition of the Season on 2nd April was won by Joyce Kenyon with a nett 72.

Callaway Driver Promotion

We ran a Callaway Fitting day a few weeks ago, and the incentive was that the person who gained the most yardage would get the Driver FREE. With a distance gain of almost 50 yards, the winner was Paul Barton who is using the Callaway X2 Hot. It was a close contest as there have been some outstanding results but congratulations go to Paul.

Odyssey Putter Competition

On Saturday, we ran a promotion with Oddysey putters, as we have the entire range available for you to try during masters week. Call in and try out any of the new Oddysey putters on the putting green or on the course, we have the lot, and I am sure there will be something to improve your game.

The competition on Saturday invited golfers to take out one of the new putters in the competition for which they received 3 balls FREE, and then the person trying a putter with the best score of the day would get the putter for half price!!

The winner was new member Kris Meadows playing in his first competition who took out the Oddysey Versa Mallet and shot a nett 66. Congratulations to Kris who now gets his new putter for half price!
