Well done Tony, just the 48 points then?
2 weeks ago Tony Vernazza came in to have a fitting for a new driver with John, but as he was struggling to get on with any drivers John suggested a few lessons before we went ahead with the fitting.
After 2 lessons with John Tony had an amazing 48 points in the Thursday fiddle!! Well done Tony keep up the good work.
Winter Competitions
New local rule:
From this weekend we are implementing a new local rule which we hope will help with the pace of play.
Putting with the flag unattended - You will be allowed to make your first approach putt with the Flag in which we hope will speed up play and also help reduce foot damage around the hole.
This is an addition to the Rake and place rule we adopted a few weeks ago which has been a success.
The winter competitions are very well supported and I hope these local rules help to make them more enjoyable.
If you would like to make any suggestions regarding the winter competitions in respect of format etc please let us know.

One for the Ladies
On Wednesday I took 2 of my daughters Stef and Georgina to the Echo Arena in Liverpool to watch the Strictly Come Dancing Tour as our friend Thom Evans is one of the dancers, it was a great night and I thought I would share the photo of Stef, George and Thom especially for the Ladies!
Thom is the son of my good friend and ex-boss from Runcorn GC Brian Evans who now lives in Portugal and had come over for the show.
The secret to good golf
Sorry to tease, but as Butch Harmon told me a few years ago at a coaching conference "the secret to golf is there is no secret!"
Good golf is just a combination of mixing the right advice with some good old fashioned effort. The most important thing is to have good basics with the grip and set up and then a clear understanding of the concept of making a good swing.
This may sound obvious but I see so few golfers doing it.
Check out these pictures of grip and simply try and copy them and see how different it feels.
If you have any questions about the basics of your game including your basic setup, please come and talk to a member of the Pro Shop team, and see how much a small change could improve your golf in 2015.
