I would like to thank the Golf Committee for all the time and effort they have put in recently to try and make the competition sign on less stressful for the members. The new Trial format basically replicates the old Thursday night sign on, where at one time the first person in the club would get first choice and this lead to some people almost camping out overnight. The system became less chaotic when the golf committee introduced the numbered ball system so that there was no need or panic to be first in the queue. The latest trial sign on means that you no longer have to drop everything at 6.55 and pound away on your computer to try and book a time. You will simply have a 24 hour window from midnight on the Wednesday (9 days before the Competition) to enter your names into a time Zone ( a bit like we have always done for Captains weekend) and then you will be allocated a time in your preferred zone and this will be done by Friday lunchtime. I am confident this will work and that everyone hopefully will get their preferred time slot or as close as possible and that the time and effort spent by our Golf Committee will be worthwhile. The day to day signing on will remain unchanged. All golfers wishing to play in competitions must have credit in the competition account as no payment will be taken on the day, if you are unsure as to where you are up to simply ring the Pro Shop and ask. There are quite a number who need to top up before Saturday. You must deposit a minimum of 4 competitions £14 into the account ( this just makes it easier to keep track of for me! ) If you do not do online banking you can pay cash in the shop in advance, again a £14 minimum but any multiple of £3.50. Please give this new format chance to see if it improves the experience and lets pray for some dry weather. Any questions regarding this please feel free to get in touch. Don't forget the Pro Shop Xmas Draw, £5 to enter and £500's worth of great prizes on offer. Thanks Pete.
