We hope you’re well. Whether you believe summer starts on the 1st of June or after the summer solstice, it’s great to be playing golf in the sunshine once again. One area of your game that may still be a little rusty after months away from the course is your short game. So, to give you some much-needed inspiration, scroll down to our Video of the Week and watch one of the world’s best in action. Stay safe and enjoy the read, Peter.

Normality is slowly returning... Next week from Monday, 15 June, I will be able to reopen the shop and I know you will have a lot of money burning a hole in your pocket to spend with me, so please be patient and form an orderly queue! Seriously, I love you all as you have been incredibly generous to me through this very difficult situation. As I open the shop, it poses some new problems and the first one you will be met with is right at the door, so PLEASE sanitise your hands before entering. This will make my life a lot easier and possibly save yours!

Here is the next obstacle! On your entrance into the shop after sanitising your hands, there is a left turn one-way system which will lead you to the counter where you will see me behind this screen waiting to help you spend your hard-earned cash but trying to keep us both safe! There will only be two allowed into the shop at any one time and I know this is going to be difficult so please help me to get this right.

The next challenge is coaching and club fitting. I have begun a bit of coaching this week and following all the guidelines, this is all outdoors and I have been fitting them in around my other job in the car park. So, if you would like any help with your game, please get in touch and let me know. Andy will also be starting some coaching which again will be outdoors on the short game area or playing lessons. Then there is the issue of club fitting, so again, I have followed the guidelines and with 2-metre spacing and hand sanitiser as you go in and alcohol wipes on all the clubs, it is possible but still far from normal.

Here's a little gadget that may help you enjoy your golf over coming weeks and months. This little bunker rake attaches to the grip of your club and allows you to rake the bunker in the absence of the usual ones. I have just had 50 of these delivered, so if you would like one they are £9.99. Let me know.

Tell us your stories For those of you who have managed to get out on the course, we want to hear your golfing stories! No doubt some people are playing the best golf of their life after the long lay-off and all previous rounds a distant past. Whereas, for others, that delight at being out in the fresh air quickly evaporated after losing a ball down the first. Hole-in-one? Air shots? Personal best score? Whatever your story, we want to know! Simply, send us a message here.
