Evening all, Another Windy day today, hope you enjoyed it, again a huge amount of golfers enjoying our wonderful course. We have even had reports of a Deer on the course Lots of you have been asking me about the hours I am spending on the car park but I can only say it has been brilliant engaging with you all, helping you with your golf, keeping you safe as it is really important to me that we are not just a course, that will always have its ups and downs or even a club but a community or family who all respect and help each other. I have been overwhelmed by your messages of support through these difficult times and also your generosity in helping to support my business. My main concern at present is ensuring that we as a golf club get this right so that we can return at some point to a bit more of a normal daily routine. Over the last 10 days after re opening any slight issues have been because members have not been aware of the guidelines and restrictions in place so I have listed them below and if we can treat this as the new normal for a while we will all have an enjoyable time. Thanks again as always I am off tomorrow so you will be looked after by Dave Hignett, Harry Mather, Paul Kearney, Andy Eyre( yes that one) and Gerry Ryder. Please be good for them and I will see you on Monday. Back to the Wine xx GOLF GUIDELINES Dear Golfers we are in unprecedented times and we are only in day 10 of golf after lockdown. We are doing our best to ensure we all have fun and stay safe and we thank all of the members for helping to get through the initial period of this unusual time. Any slight issues we have had over the past 10 days have simply been because members were not aware of all the guidelines in place, so to try and clarify here are the current conditions of play. We are only allowing members to play the front 9 holes or back 11 holes, this is because it is not possible to meet demand for play over 18 holes, some clubs are doing this and disappointing lots of their members. Please try and arrive fairly close to your tee time to avoid congregating on the car park, again this is for your safety. Practice facilities are all closed , this is to stop golfers congregating as it would be difficult to control and again is for your safety. Please be aware that if you are late it is not possible to hold your tee time and your playing partner will be asked to tee off and you may catch them up as virtually every tee time is booked and it will cause congestion if delayed. We have put a one way system in place so when going to the 10th tee please go past the shop and wait at the wall until the tee is clear. On exiting the 9th green please go past the studio back to the car park and on exiting the 18th green please go past the nets, this is so that you don’t come into any head on traffic. When you tee off please try and stay close to your allotted time and under no circumstances can you play through the game in front, please keep your distance from the game ahead of you. Please do not hang around after your game to meet up with friends, again this is for your safety. We are marshalling the car park to ensure there are no issues and that all golfers are safe, have fun and that every member gets the same opportunities. Peter our Professional has been doing a daily blog through this time and also sends out a weekly newsletter, we would encourage everyone to sign up for this as all of the information will help you to understand the situation and enjoy your time at the club. It is very easy to register, just go to www.peterallanpro.co.uk click on the orange register button in the right hand corner, enter your email, details and a password, tick all the boxes and answer yes to any question. This is all because of GDPR and you can easily unsubscribe if you want to. We thank you for your patience at this time and promise that we are doing our utmost to provide the best possible service given the restrictions we are facing. Along with Peter there are several members marshalling the car park so please stop and say hello and they will give you all the information you need to enjoy your day.
