Good evening golfers I am sure that the 193 of you who played today in the strong winds are almost ready for bed, its been a very windy day. Happy Birthday today to Bill Unsworth who played this morning at 7.50 on his 80th Birthday! I hope you had a good day and Geoff let you win. The course continues to get a little better each day and the little bit of rain this morning would have helped. Everything is a little different at present and even on such a blustery day there were still almost 200 members and it is important to keep everything flowing by arriving on time as the start sheet is mainly very full especially on the back 9. Having spoken to virtually every member who has played over the last week I would like to try and answer some of the recurring questions. To try and make it as fair as possible for all members the Board decided to have a 2 tee start and play just 9 holes and this has worked extremely well accommodating a vast amount of members in this busy period. 18 Holes will be available when it is possible to accommodate the demand which will rely on us being able to play in 3 balls or the numbers of golfers dropping due to going back to work or getting over golfed! Competitions will resume as soon as it is possible to do so and will probably just be centred around the major prizes but again this revolves around the numbers wishing to play. The golf committee are regularly considering these points and if you have any suggestions please get in touch. I have to say that a lot of members are really enjoying the current format. We will continue to monitor the car park for some time to ensure your safety as left unattended it could end up like Formby beach. Thanks for being patient and I have to say its been fantastic getting to speak to so many of you on a daily basis. Paul Featherstone is on duty in the morning until 9am so look after him and I will see you later. Open the Wine!!
