Winter Course
Winter golf for some is a depressing time of the year but it really doesn’t have to be. As we go from summer course to winter tees and often temp greens, we naturally miss the warmth and the dry fairways but Winter golf can offer some fabulous days and with different tee positions and some fun temp greens it can be a really fun challenge if you go out with the right mental approach. The Winter course can also provide relief to often-used areas by giving different landing zones to summer golf allowing those areas to recover ready for spring. Same goes for some roped off areas, a good example been the 1st green/2nd tee area, as we play the wintergreen and move to the 2nd tee area we totally avoid the summer green and 2nd tee letting it recover and we gain this fabulous view and new look tee shot for a few months. Roped areas can be frustrating but remember that the green staff are just trying to protect areas of the course ready for the new season which as we know will be here quicker than we think! |
