Tour news

Rory's Rapturous Round

Rarely, do we see players threaten (or reach) the magical 59 score in Tour-level golf. So, when McIlroy flirted with exactly this during Sunday's final round of the Canadian Open - whilst being in contention from the start - it was one impressive feat.

The Northern Irishman needed to birdie his final hole for a 59 and was in prime position when his drive split the fairway, only to miss the green with his approach and finish up with a bogey.

Still, McIlroy's magical 61 was more-than-enough to claim his second PGA Tour title of 2019 (as well as eight other top 10s) ahead of this week's U.S. Open at Pebble Beach. Talk about timing.
