Junior Victory Trophy
This years' Junior Trophy was played last Friday and our juniors played some fantastic golf in the rain at Wigan. Unfortunately the team didn't manage to win the team gross like last year, but our Junior Captain Craig Rimmer managed to finish second in the individual gross with superb scores of 73 and 75. Last years' Junior Captain Andrew Bagot who has regular lessons had a brilliant second round lowering his handicap from 12 to 10!
Pairs Knockout
Against the odds the pairings of Ray Sims & Kevin Sweeney and Geoff Parkinson & Tom Birchall have gone through to the knockout semi-finals! Ray & Kevin beat the in form duo of John Banasko and Nick Bradshaw while Geoff & Tom beat top pairing Matt Whitfield & Jim Shirley 5&4.
Mal Evans Shows His Class
Malcolm Evans won the Presidents Prize with a superb 71-7-64. Good to see Mal playing well after struggling with back issues this year.

What is the weak point of your game? Driving? Short putting? No doubt you have an answer. But how do you know?
For most club golfers, their answer will be based on a hunch. But ask a tour pro the same question and he can back his answer up with cold, hard figures.
Stat gathering may not sound the most exciting exercise, but it can have a very positive effect on your game. Truly know your strengths and weaknesses and you can start to work on the parts of your game that need it most. After all, as Lee Trevino said, golf is about making your worst shot better.
We'll be happy to discuss your best approach to game analysis. But for a simple start, chart your performance on par 3s, 4s and 5s for the next month. Compare the results to find out which type of your hole is weakest. Once you know that, you can begin to target your practice accordingly. And that's really going to speed up your progress.
